Tween & Teen Media Reviews
Tweens and Teens in grades 6-12 can earn service hours by writing reviews for NEW YA books and other media, such as movies, music albums, and library databases.
Reviews for books, movies, and music albums will earn you 4 service hours per review.
Database reviews will earn 1 service hour per review.
General guidelines to know and follow:
- Reviews should be minimum 150 words. Max is 300 words
- Book/Movie/Music Album Reviews: 2 per month..
- Reviews for books and movies should discuss elements such as how the plot flowed, writing style, flaws in the story, and overall enjoyment of the book. Do not provide a summary of the book or movie.
- Database Reviews: 3 per month.
- Database reviews should detail what the database is about, what is used for, who would benefit from using this database, their scope of information, and should include an example of how you can use the database.
Submissions will be reviewed by the Teen Librarian before service hours are awarded.
We reserve the right to deny service hours if the review does meet the criteria presented above.
