This fun and easy technique will jumpstart your personal goals for success. From earning more money to strengthening family ties scrapbook journaling can be life changing. Please bring an 8-1/2 x 11 inch spiral bound notebook.

Coffee and Coloring
Saturday, September 24 from 10:30 to 12:00 pm
Coloring for adults is becoming a nationwide craze. Get in on the craze! The library will provide soothing music and refreshments to help you relax and enjoy a stress reducing time. Colored pencils and coloring pages will be supplied but you are also welcome to bring your own.  Adults only please.

Walgreens Flu Shots at the Library
Wednesday, September 28 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm
The Hillside Walgreens is having a shot clinic at the Hillside Public Library. Walgreens will bill your insurance company. If anyone needs to pay cash price, the cost will be $25.99. Walgreens will have a limited number of flu shot vouchers that can be used to help anyone that does not have insurance. Pneumonia vaccines will also be available for anyone that is eligible, as determined by CDC guidelines. Please bring any MEDICAL AND/OR PRESCRIPTION insurance cards that you may have, including Medicare B (“red, white, and blue”) cards.

Brown Bag Lunch and Movie

To get you in the mood for our October 13th program, we will watch the movie Quiz Show. This film takes an exciting and suspenseful look behind the scenes at the thrills and high-stakes competition of TV’s hottest big money game shows of the 1950’s.  Bring your lunch, library will supply drinks and dessert.

Understanding Your Credit Score
Thursday, October 6 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm
Representatives from the Hillside branch of Inland Band will present a seminar on the importance of your credit score. Topics include what the credit score means and how it impacts your purchasing power, how to obtain a free copy of your credit score, ways to repair bad credit, and much much more!

Those Wacky Game Shows
Thursday, October 13 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm
Local Musician, Bandleader and Pop Culture Historian Steve Cooper presents a video program of show biz and musical celebrities on the great old Game Shows.  Shows include What’s My Line, Hollywood Squares, I’ve Got A Secret, The Gong Show and many others with Steve telling fascinating and humorous “behind the scenes” stories for each video clip.  At the end of the show, Steve will play a big band tune on his trumpet and take song requests from the audience.  He claims to “know all the old songs.”

Greeting Cards for Hospitalized Children
Wednesday, October 26 from 7:00 to 8:15 pm
Cards for Hospitalized Kids is an international charity  that spreads hope and joy to hospitalized kids across America through uplifting, handmade cards. Join us as we make holiday cards to send to this charitable organization.  All materials will be provided.  Adults only please.

AARP Driver Safety Course
Thursday and Friday, November 3rd and 4th from Noon to 4:00 pm
The goal of this course is to help keep older drivers independent, safe and confident while on the road. Cost: $15 for AARP members, $20 for non-AARP members

Special Needs Family B-I-N-G-O
Sunday, November 13 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm
A Bingo event especially for people with special needs, along with their families or caregivers.  Fun, prizes, refreshments. Each attending special needs person must be accompanied with appropriate caregiver.  Families and individuals without special needs are also welcome to attend. Registration required.  Minimum 10 Maximum 35

DIY Cookies in a Jar
Wednesday, November, 30 at 7:00 pm
Make and take home Sand Art Brownies and Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies in a jar.  These cookie mixes, complete with recipe gift tag, make great teacher or hostess gifts. Cost of this program is $3 per participant due at registration. Minimum 4, Maximum 16.   Register by Sunday, November 27th
