Non Resident Card

NON-RESIDENT POLICY AND FEES

Individuals who reside beyond the official boundaries of the Village of Hillside in the area know as West Dale Gardens and own no property within the Village of Hillside, may purchase a non-resident library card through payment of an annual fee which allows all family members at that address to have a library card for one year. Residents from any other unincorporated area must visit the closest public library to the applicant’s residence, as determined by Illinois State Law (75ILCS 16/30-55.60), in order to purchase a non-resident card.

The non-resident card shall be equitable and proportionate to the fee paid by Hillside Public Library residents, and shall be determined by the general mathematical formula method (75ILCS 16/30-55.60).

Non-resident library cards shall be valid for one year, and shall afford all services offered by the Hillside Public Library, including reciprocal borrowing privileges.

The annual fee for a non-resident card is set annually by the Board.
